Your personal information held by the Foundation is primarily stored in Quebec and Canada. However, in certain situations, it is possible that personal information may be communicated or stored outside the country (for example, if we use an external service provider located outside Canada or who stores its data outside the country). In such cases, the Foundation will ensure that parameters are in place for the third party's use and disclosure of the personal information in order to protect it.
The Foundation will retain personal information for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, i.e. to allow you to visit the works in the Giverny Capital Collection, or as required or permitted by law. Once we no longer need to retain your personal information, we must dispose of it in a secure manner as required by law, either by destroying it or by anonymizing it (note: anonymization is a way of modifying personal information so that it no longer directly or indirectly identifies the individual).
